CIT Expert Group on waste shipments and other specific transport

The CIT expert group on the international transport of waste goods and other specific shipments was officially established in 2025 in response to growing demand from CIT members who transport this type of goods. The implementation of the new regulation (EU) 2024/1157 of 11 April 2024 in this area presents a challenge for rail carriers, and the CIT is supporting its members in applying the new legal regulatory framework and offering targeted support to address operational, legal and administrative challenges.
