CIM/SMGS
The carriage of freight between Europe and Asia is governed by two different legal regimes: the CIM Uniform Rules and the SMGS Agreement. At the interface between these two legal regimes, shipments have to be reconsigned and a new consignment note has to be made out. The practicalities of this process are set out in the CIM/SMGS Reconsignment Manual developed (GR CIM/SMGS).
